St. Stephen's Outreach Values

At St. Stephen’s, outreach is an essential part of living our faith. As followers of Jesus, we believe God’s love became tangible through Him — and it is both our privilege and responsibility to make that love real through service to others. We are proud to support several ongoing partnerships, offering our time, energy, resources, and gifts to meet the needs of our community and beyond.

Blessing Bags for Children

Blessing Bags.jpg

At St. Stephen’s, we believe that no child should go hungry. Our Blessing Bags for Children program provides weekend meals to local children who receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch at school but may have little to eat on weekends. These bags help bridge the gap, ensuring that children return to school nourished and ready to learn.

When Bags are Distributed:

Blessing Bags are distributed EVERY Friday from    5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in our Parish Hall.

What's in a Blessing Bag?
Each Blessing Bag contains a weekend’s worth of food, including:

  • 2 breakfast meals (such as cereal, oatmeal, or breakfast bars)

  • 2 lunches (tuna fish packets with crackers, ready-to-eat pasta meals, or canned soup)

  • 2 dinners (microwavable meals, ramen, mac and cheese cups)

  • Snacks (granola bars, crackers, fruit snacks)

  • Beverages (shelf-stable milk, juice boxes)

We carefully select foods that are kid-friendly, shelf-stable, and easy to prepare with little to no adult assistance.

When We Pack:
Blessing Bags are packed every Thursday at 5:45 PM.

Volunteer Opportunities:
There are many ways to get involved:

  • Packing: Help assemble Blessing Bags at our weekly packing sessions.

  • Delivering: Volunteer to pick up donations from local business and deliver them to St. Stephen's.

  • Organizing Drives: Host a food drive to support our program.

How You Can Help:

  • Donate Food Items: Non-perishable, individually packaged kid-friendly foods are always needed. Use our QR code or Link to access our Amazon wish list.

  • Financial Contributions: Monetary gifts allow us to purchase food in bulk at reduced costs.

  • Spread the Word: Share our mission with friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Every bag packed is a tangible reminder to a child that they are loved, cared for, and never forgotten. Thank you for helping us nourish both body and spirit in our community!

Common Good Supper

At St. Stephen’s, we believe that sharing a meal builds community, fosters connection, and nourishes both body and soul. Our Common Good Supper is a free community meal open to everyone — no questions asked. It is an opportunity for neighbors, friends, and families to gather around the table and enjoy good food, warm hospitality, and meaningful conversation.

When and Where:
The Common Good Supper is held on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in our Parish Hall.

What to Expect:
Each gathering features a delicious, home-cooked meal prepared by our volunteers. We aim to provide a hearty entrée, sides, dessert, and beverages — all served with a smile. There is no cost to attend, and everyone is welcome, whether you are in need of a meal, seeking community, or simply looking for a warm, welcoming place to gather.

How You Can Help:

  • Volunteer: Help cook, serve, or clean up after the meal.

  • Donate: Contributions of food, funds, or supplies are always appreciated.

  • Invite Others: Share the invitation with anyone who might enjoy a meal and fellowship.

The Common Good Supper is about more than just food — it's about community, dignity, and reminding one another that we are not alone.

Come hungry. Leave fed — in every way.
