When a Loved One Dies:  Funerals at Saint Stephen’s

“We are sorry for your loss…”

Losing a loved one is never easy, and it’s something we never truly get used to. In times of grief, many turn to the church for comfort and support. St. Stephen’s Church is here to walk with you and offer guidance during this difficult time.

Do I Have to Be a Member of Saint Stephen’s?

  • You or your loved one DO NOT have to be church members for St. Stephen’s to host your funeral or for our priest to officiate.

  • We believe in the ancient Christian principle that everyone deserves a funeral.

Making Arrangements

  • Schedule: Time, date, and location should be arranged as soon as possible.

  • Finalization: These arrangements are finalized in a conversation with you, your Funeral Director, and our staff.

  • Notification: Call Heather Mitchell at 610-461-0490 to begin the process.

Planning the Funeral

We will work with you to select Scripture readings, music, and other elements to create a meaningful service that honors and celebrates the life of your loved one.

Your Loved One’s Remains

  • Options: Burial or cremation.

  • Cremation Choices: Body present then cremated, ashes present at service, or memorial service without remains.

  • Recommendation: Cremation with ashes present, but all options are fine.
